About

My name is Kate, and I’m the Holistic Art Coach. My pronouns are she/her.

I believe anyone can change if they are dedicated to the process. I’ve done a lot of changing myself over the years! It’s a lifelong process. I’m here to support you, making the process fulfilling and fun. I believe all of us want the same essential things: safety for ourselves and our loved ones, and a sense of purpose, joy, and fulfillment. Helping people get there is why I do this work.

Since 2002, I’ve facilitated workshops that help people connect with the heart of who they are. My practices are intersectional and anti-oppressive. I’ve done this work in schools, community centers, homes, and prisons. I have been a teacher, consultant, artist, agitator, and creator. I’ve also worked in plenty of thankless, physically demanding jobs, including restaurant work, retail, and commercial cleaning. I’ve coached executives and young adults in public speaking and business English. I’ve worked with major performing arts organizations and I’ve spoken in front of crowds at prestigious universities and national historic sites.

I have an MA in Education and Human Development from George Washington University and a BA from the University of Michigan. I am completing Wayfinder Life Coach Training, and am pursing credentialing by the International Coaching Federation. I have educational certifications in special education, English for speakers of other languages, theatre, visual art, and English language & literature.

But my deep investment in healing work doesn’t come from my training. It comes from the changes I’ve seen this work bring about in others and myself. Through trauma, depression, neurodiversity, unemployment, housing insecurity, disability, chronic illness, understanding my sexuality, eating disorder, betrayal, and addiction, these practices have brought me back to myself, again and again. With each exploration into this healing work, I grow stronger, wiser, and more connected to the world than I was before. Expressive art-making, thought work, and somatics have been my lifeline. Today, I have a beautiful, joyful life, and I love helping others find their own unique solutions so they can thrive in their own lives.
